Did you know?

  • The endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly has a permanent home on the Chevron Refinery's two-acre preserve, one of the only two remaining preserves in the world. In the mid 1980s there were only 400 of these fragile butterflies, but today more than 10,000 flourish . The flight season is usually in July and August.

  • The city earned its name because it was the site of the second ("el segundo" in Spanish) Standard Oil refinery on the West Coast when Standard Oil purchased the 840 acres (3.4 km2) of farm land in 1911. This is now known as the Chevron Refinery.

  • In 1930 Los Angeles Municipal Airport, later Los Angeles International Airport, opened north of El Segundo; its presence lead to the concentration of aerospace and aviation-related firms in the El Segundo area.  Many large aerospace companies have facilities in El Segundo, including Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX and The Aerospace Corporation, which is headquartered there. It is also home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), which is responsible for space-related acquisition for the military.

  • El Segundo is well known for star athletes. Hall of Fame baseball player George Brett is from El Segundo. El Segundo is also home to the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings practice facility.



  • El Segundo High School has been featured in many films and television shows, more than any other high school in the U.S.

Location / Directions

Lauson & Tarver is located at 880 Apollo Street (cross street Rosecrans Avenue, between Sepulveda Blvd. and Aviation Street), on the southern edge of El Segundo at the Manhattan Beach border. The offices are about 1 mile west of the 405 freeway and about 3 miles south of LAX, on the west side of Los Angeles County in Southern California.

From the north or south, take the 405 and exit Rosecrans Avenue west, go about a mile and turn right at Apollo Street and right again at the driveway. Free visitor parking is available in the parking structure as you enter to the left.We are in suite 301 on the third floor next to the elevator from the main lobby, across the small courtyard from the parking structure.  Very easy to find and convenient for you.
